Stay hopeful!
... or don't.

There's a lot that a proper outlook can help with, but sometimes people take that in the wrong way;  hope isn't a magic curative, it's not something that can make every situation better.  Sometimes, there really isn't any hope of something- and letting yourself keep that "hope" alive after that point isn't going to get you anything except an even rougher crash, and make the injury even more painful.

Yes, positivity helps.  But realism does too.  And there's no reason you can't mix the two.  Being realistic isn't toxic.  You can have some hope while still recognizing that, in all odds, it won't happen.  Just don't cling to your hope.  Don't pin your future, and your mood to it.  Positivity helps- but if you only have that because of hope, if the reason you're feeling up and good is just that you've got hopes and dreams... you're tapdancing on a house of cards a hundred feet up.  If you want a true positive, make the core of it who you are, the people that around you- and recognize that those hopes you have for the future are only even remotely possible because of that.

Whatever else you hope, simply having a life was, is, and will always be the best thing that's happened in your life.
